“Running for Peace”

 

La 14 noiembrie 2003, în or. Hâncești, Serviciu pentru Pace în colaborare cu Departamentul Tineret și Sport al Primăriei, a organizat competițiile sportive „Running for Peace” (Alergări în numele Păcii). Această competiție s-a desfășurat sub formă de ștafete și au participat 70 de elevi de la 7 instituții de învățământ din orășel. Primele 3 locuri au fost decernate cu diplome și premii bănești. Locul 1 a fost ocupat de către elevii Liceului Teoretic „Mihai Sadoveanu”.

English Content “Running for Peace”
 
At 14 November, 2003 in Hincesti town were organized sport competitions named ”Running for Peace”. We had about 70 participants, representing 7 institutions of that town. It was simple: They gathered to run for Peace. We sponsored awards for the wining teams. Is important to mention that those competitions were supported by local City Hall and local Youth and Sport Department. They were happy to promote together with Service for Peace the Vision of Peace. It was quite cold outside because of wintertime, and that cold be considered as a real obstacle, but nevertheless participant came as promised. Everyone who promised came and participated. We expected about 70 participants, but there came also about 40 supporters.
This event was a simple but a good step toward starting to establish the culture of peace in that town.
We think every event we organize, small or big lives a positive mark in spiritual atmosphere of the location where we organise the project.
